Grimpkins Hollow
Grimpkins Hollow is home to the Grimpkins, mischevous little creatures who eat laughter instead of food. The Hollow itself is forested primarily with macrocytes titans, a gigantic form of mushroom known for its bizarre vocalizations.
Pictured to the right is a small specimen, barely a day old, located on one of our early expeditions to Wrush. The little fellow in the scientist's hand began shrieking so loudly the moment she picked it up, our ears were still ringing at nine o' clock that evening. The clamour of several adults singing at once is impossible to imagine. It is perhaps best compared to the din of one-hundred ambulance sirens blasted through a megaphone which has been fastened to the inner-ear, while the bearer of that ear swings back and forth upon the iron clanger of an enormous clock-tower bell on a dark but luxuriously warm summer's eve in the south of France.
