High Council of Secret Libraries

For more than six thousand years, we, the High Council, have been collectors of rare and dangerous books. Our libraries are among the greatest wonders of the world, though most people do not even know we exist. This is best. It allows us scholars our privacy. It furthermore protects the public from our books- many of which require decades of training just to read. If you, for example, thought The Red Necromancer's Lost Diary sounded like a pleasant little tale, and were foolish enough to pull it from our shelf, your mind would fizzle like pop-rocks before you finished the first page. For many years after you would think only in purple.

Therefore the location of each library is revealed only to initiated members. We are a select group, disciplined, abiding ancient laws. One among us, however, is different. He is known to you as The Karakul.

If The Karakul is the most brilliant among us, he is also the most reckless. Willful, courageous, forever roaming in search of new books, it his library we value above all others.

For many years now he has been engaged in a very important project, and has become our expert on the hidden world of Wrush. If you, too, would like to follow his adventures, consider downloading a free copy of Book One below.
